Optimal weather conditions are ideal for
pilots. Although, weather plays a big role in aircraft performance and is one
of the major causes for aviation accidents human error is also a factor. An
example for hindering aircraft performance is humidity. The air becomes dense
as temperatures rise which affects the overall performance of the aircraft.
Additionally, colder environments are better for aircraft performance. Look at
it this way, aircrafts are like joggers. Joggers tend to be picky in certain
operating environments which include humid weather. Furthermore, it’s harder
for a jogger to have optimal performance in a humid environment. The same
concept applies with aircraft performance. At the end of the day, “there are a
few aircraft performance factors that pilots need to look out for before taking
flight” (Adams).
